APTTC April

This months challenge has been sponsored by

The Hungrey Jpeg

The set we were allowed to use was HUGE!  There were folders after folders of beautiful images, alphabets, frames etc.  So much to choose from.  I uses

Delicate Spring Flowers

I used a heart frame to make an engagement card.  I do struggle a little with preprinted images but I am giving it a red hot go!

#493 The Paper Shelter

The Penny DT are back with another great fortnight of inspiration.

This week one of our sponsors is

The Paper Shelter

The image I used I had had in my stash for a little while now.

There's a Penguin in my Cocoa!

I got my alcohol inks out and finally gave them a good play with. A little different from the last post I done.  I used the same colour, blue with some silver.  But this time, instead of Yupo paper I used the piece of card that comes in our stamps sets.  It has a shiny surface and worked amazingly well.

The sentiment is from a MFT set Holiday Penguins. I used B's, C's and some T's to colour in the little fellow and his gifts.  The more I use blue, white and silver combination for Christmas cards the more I love it.  Still love red and green  but I am sure I can love both at the same time.

Don't forget to play along with the team.  We love looking at all your poojects.

Happy crafing.

Back with another great challenge for you with

Make The Cards Challenge

This one as you can see is a colour one.

I have been out to challenge myself a little of late, using new and old techniques.  Techniques I have not fully explored.  Alcohol inks is one of those.

Now believe it or not the background for this card is just one colour.  I used blue but for some reason some pink and purple came out of that once the blending fluid was added.  Very cool since those 3 colours fit the challenge!

I stamped and die cut 3 gnomes from the latest MFT release. Coloured those up using my copics.

B01 B02

R81 R83 R85

BG02 BG01 BG00

G20 G21 G24

Closest combinations I could get to matching the description.

Play along with the challenge for your chance to be a guest designer!  How cool would that be. Look forward to seeing every ones creations.

We are back with another great sketch from

Sketch Saturday

Slowly but surely I am working my way through some uninked stamps sets.  This one was a Limited Edition box from Kindred Stamps.

The zig zag lines are from the stencil that was included.  Reminds you of one of their characters shirts.  I replaced the scallop at the bottom also to continue the theme.

I just love making these fandom type cards.  And mix these with the sketches, seriously these cards almost make themselves!  LOL

March Crafty Christmas Club

I cannot believe it is near the end of February already!
This month I decided to go Aussie!  I live here and love using our home grown products so why not!

I used Uniquely Creative    Aussie Christmas 2 Stamp and matching die set.  And also their
 Merry Christmas  die.

I even gave the Kangaroo a red nose (our version of Rudolph I reckon!)  The Merry Christmas is die cut from some silver foil cardstock.  The star is from an Altenew set.  A little hard to see in the photo but the Night of Navy background has HO HO HO stamped all over it.  That background stamp belongs to MFT.

Here is the list of the other amazing DT members sharing their Christmas projects.

Happy crafting!

#9 Masculine

 Our next weekly is up!

Make the Cards Challenge

And the challenge is

I have to say I love making male cards.  Yes, it is hard to find good stamps or papers etc, but when you do find them buy a few bits extra and make a few extra.  You never know when  you might need it.

The stamp set used here is A Good Man from Stampin'Up.  SU have many sets, using the same artist, that are family orientated.  I have been collecting them since they were released, and this set is just perfect for all the men in our lives.
It is always handy to have some tartan patterned paper.  They are perfect for masculine cards.  A bit of hessian ribbon tied off with twine.
We would love to see what you come up with so don't forget to share your projects in the challenge.
Happy crafitng!

#492 The Papernest Dolls

Hi everyone.  Back today with a really cute image from one of this fortnights sponsors.

Knight Owen With Dragon

Been a little while since I have used a The Paper Nest Dolls image.  They really are cute and she has so many themes to choose from.

I went for a medieval look with the idea we are looking through a window or doorway in a wall for this one.  Kept the background around the 2 characters very simple as the brick work is enough for the surrounds.

My Grey copics got a workout with this one. I used a mix of C's , W's and the odd N.  To break up all that grey with the little knight I added a gold shield.  I left the green foliage as is.  I tried flowers but they just didn't work with the overall look.

Don't forget to check out all the other DT members ( Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog ) projects using other sponsor images.

Happy crafting.

#651

Wow!  These Sketch Saturdays come around very quickly.  We have enough on the DT to do fortnight about and I cannot believe we are here already!

So really I should just get to it....lol.

Here is this weeks sketch.

I did keep to the basic positions in the sketch, just altered the shapes and added an image in the middle.
This set is retired (sadly).  But you could do it with many other sets from Kindred Stamps They have some awesome fandom themes.

The galaxy background is from Altenew.  It is a large washi tape and is fantastic for this type of them.
The sentiment is from a Stampin Up set ( and I just look it up now, and it too, is retired).  Obviously we have to be quick to get these good sets.

Play along for your chance to win a prize and we would love to see what you create.  It is amazing how so many people can all have their own take on the same sketch.
Happy crafting.

#7 Theme

We are back with another great challenge over at

This week is a theme challenge

Love me a good cup of tea.  But instead of doing that for a card I went with a good old coffee.

I have used the new Tim Holtz colorize die.  It includes a cup of tea image also.  The little green bud on the front is a stamped image from my Kindred Stamps set Earth Day.  I reckon it gives it a good environmental feel....lol.  The ring stain in the background is from an Altenew set and the lighter stains are from a stencil.  The stripy pattern down the side is just hand drawn in and coloured to match the rest of the card.  I used a very old MFT set for the sentiment.
Don't forget to play along as we would love to see what you create.
Happy crafting!

Creative Craft Cottage

We are back!  This months sponsor is

Star Jam Lines

and don't they have the cutest designs!!!  Just love those gnomes (not to mention the koala!)  I am in love with them.  Do yourself a favour and check them out!

The image I got the chance to work with has been on my wish list.  And finally i get to play with it.

A very versatile image.  Can be used for Easter, Baptism, Confirmation, sympathy...the list is endless.

Cross With Flowers

The theme to go with this project was CAS.  No patterned paper, embellishments etc.  I used a water stencil in the background very lightly to add to the Baptism theme.  I just love the softness to this image.  Flowers with the woodgrain of the cross.  I added the wood grain with a texture stamp I have.  Worked out great.
Thank you for popping in to have a look at my project.
Don't forget to play along with the challenge.  They are lots of fun.

Taylor's New Job

Back again with another great project using one from

Di's Digital Studios

How often do we make a card for those that start a new job?  Not often enough!  So I grabbed this one as it is classy and so right for my eldest daughters first foray into the work force.

The image I have used is Taylor's New Job

I thought about using her on a door hanger, bookmark etc, but a card just seemed so appropriate.  I wanted something a little different so I drew freehand (and some help from my ruler) the background.  A very simple one so as to not detract from Taylor's beautiful image.  Even thought the office and building colours are very masculine and harsh I chose to soften the colours for the girl and her accessories.  You can still be "girly" in todays world.

Thanks for popping by my little corner of cyber space.

Happy crafting

CCC Digi Creations

We are back with new challenge for you this month.
Proudly sponsored by

All Dressed Up Digital Stamps

And the image I got the chance to work with reminded me a little of Sex in the City tv show.  So I ran with it.

Prosecco Time

Now on top of that we had the them of - use lace, ribbons or flowers.

Not hard to tell which embellishment I went with....some delicate little flowers.  And try as I might you just cannot see the sentiment on the pink banner.  It says "You are simply fabulous" I did try and enhance it but the rest of the photo looked really bad, so I just left well alone.

I took a photo from another angle to show I added wink of stella to the night sky and to her dress, ribbon, shoes and gloves (and the drink!)  the final touch to give her a glamorous night out on the town.
This gal is way out of my league, I tell you!  But she would be perfect for uptown girl in our lives.

#491 Cute as a Button

This fortnights sponsor is Cute as a Button

I was lucky to get to work with the image of

New Year Yorkie Sassy

I worked out the size I needed the digi cup with puppy inside.  At the same time I used a digital image for the baubles also.  Doing them both at the same time allows me to get the sizes matched up nicely.
Once printed, I coloured them all with my copic markers.  I used W combo's for the fur.  R's for the cup.  RV's for No.1 bauble, B's for No.2 and V's for the last one. And finally I used YG's fro the greens.  Using them instead of the G's gives it a bright look.
Trimmed some left over tartan paper for the background.  Added a piece of green cardstock to border that. It is a little hard to see but I did use a leafy stencil in the background using Oxide Pumice Stone ink.
The sentiment is from a dog themed Christmas set from MFT.
Don't forget to play along for your chance to win (see blog challenge for all the details)

APTTC March

Here we are with another great monthly challenge with

A Perfect Time To Craft'

This month's sponsor is

Sheepski Designs

Now you must have noticed by now that I seem to like gnomes?  Well today I get to play with another cute fellow.  This image is called

Wild Flower

Now all you get is the little fellow holding onto the wild flower.  The rest is up to you. The little house is from a MFT gnome set and the grasses and path and just copiced drawn in.  I have not done a drawn background for a while.  You may notice in the next few days I have gone silly with them.  LOL.
This technique is not for everyone but is loads of fun to have a go at.
Don't forget to play along with the challenge for your chance to win some awesome images.
