Ewok Know How

Here is how I made my pop up box EWOK card.
Start with just a simple pop up box base.  I used SU window sheet (acetate) .  Make sure you put 3 Z fold cross pieces in the middle.  Just gives your card a bit more dimension and the chance to add more embellishments.  There are many patterns on the internet, all different sized ones.  I chose to make mine a tad smaller than normal.  Here, in Australia we have C6 envelopes (standard size).  This one fits this.  But choose a size that suits you.  :-)

Next you will need to die cut some greenery.  I used my SU dies.  This pine tree frond is from the current Occassions Mini Catalogue, Christmas Staircase Thinlits dies.  This set has 2 of these fronds which makes cutting out for this card twice as fast! Who doesn't love that!  I cut out approx. 20 from SU Garden Green cardstock.  You could also use the Pretty Pines thinlits for the bigger greenery behind the "EWOK" word.

I cut out a panel of white cardstock for the back. The top half I stencilled clouds and the bottom half I sponged with Garden Green ink to fill in behind the fronds I then stuck on it.

I die cut the letters from White card using my SU Large Letters dies.  Then used my copics to give it a wood grain look.  E23 E25 E27.  glue to window sheet (acetate) cut around the word and adhere to the middle cross pieces with double sided tape.

Stamp the log and stump from the MFT set Happy Hedgehogs ( as many as you require)  and colour using the same colours as the EWOK word.  the leaves I used YG13 and YG17.  Hand cut these.  One log I shortened and used a black marker to hand draw and shorter edge.

Ewoks.  Gotta love them right? Yes!  All I did was google search pics of them.  And chose my colours from there.

I stamped these from the Kindred set, Galactic Adventures-The Sequel.   Once coloured I hand cut them all out ( would love a scan n cut.  Maybe Santa might me nice to me?  Fingers crossed).

Then it is just a matter of adhering everything to the card wherever you  want them.  I had so much fun with this card.  As soon as I seen the ewok stamp, this is the card I envisioned.  My favourite is the little one hanging upside down...hehe.

October Release Kindred Stamps

Hi and welcome to the October release for Kindred stamps.  This is my first (ever!) guest designer role.  And I can tell you I had a ton of fun!  My stamp set was Off to see the Wizard set.

I just hope I have done this classic justice.  I love the stories from our childhood, so it was nice to revisit this one.  The first card I have for you is the actual first one I created.

Using my SU Large Alpha dies I spelt the word OZ out.  This technique is all the rage at the moment.  The Eclipse technique. (Dorothy even has her glittered ruby shoes on).

The next photo is a CAS card.  I really love this style.

I love the grey scale colouring with that "pop" of red.  He is just so cute.

I am a sucker for a good background technique.  So this card had to have something different.

Using my Colorburst powders I made this eerie background behind the little witch.  I intended on purple but my powder seems to have too much pink in it and that is not the look I was going for.  Black and purple would have been great but I have not gotten the black yet....lol.  There is always something in our stash we do not have.

Last but not least........

I had to do a card with the whole crew together.  They look fantastic next to one another.

I would like to thank Kindred for the opportunity they forwarded to me/  I have had the best time coming up with designs.  Can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with.
Here are the links for the rest of the blog hop.  Enjoy the ride and I hope it inspires you to create.

Yes. It is Dr Who again

There was a challenge on the Kindred Fan page to make something that is "not a card ".  This was my entry.

I found a pattern of the T.A.R.D.I.S.  on pinterest and printed it out and put it together.  Stamped out a doctor and 2 daleks.  The Daleks have been added to the side with acetate and the doctor is just adhered to the front.  I was having a bad copic hair day.  Nothing was working for me.  :-(  But happy with how the whole thing turned out.

Ewok you a lot

I will do up a blog post on this card next week, as I have so much going on for the next few days.  But I thought I would share the photos anyway as I am in love with these Ewoks!  I grew up with Star Wars and now my kids are doing the same.  It is nice to share something with the younger generation.  Stay tuned  💚

Owl-some Owls
