#645

Welcome to another great week with

We are up to #645

For this one I did omit the flourish as I honestly had no room for it.  lol

This sketch had me stumped to start with.  Then my mojo just took over.
I used SU Smoky Slate cardstock for the base card and the panel cut out for the front.  The flowers and sentiments are from the SU Forever and Always bundle (both stamps and dies).  I did cut the word Always out twice in two different colours so it made it pop. I had to fill the gap beside the sentiment so I threw in some hearts with gems added.
The flowers and leaves we stamped and die cut.  I used Y11, Y15 and Y17 for the petals with E79 in the centre.  The leaves were G28 and G24.  I slipped these under the sentiment panel so they look like they are peeking out from behind.
Florals are great space fillers on top of looking gorgeous.

Crafty Christmas Club 2021

Here we go!

Nooo, I  hear you say!  lol Well, um, yes.  The 25th of every month we will be sharing some Christmas inspiration with you.  Seriously, this worked so well for me last year.  I had plenty of Christmas cards for everyone.

Here is my first card for 2021.

A CAS (clean and simple) card.  Great for making a large number of cards.  Fairly quick and great to post as it is not too lumpy and bumpy.  I also like the patchy look of the sentiment.

Here are others who would like to share their projects with you.

Brand new challenge

I would like you to welcome a brand new challenge beginning this year.

This is a weekly challenge that will challenge you.  From sketches to colour challenges, each week will be different. I hope you will join me playing along or just simply enjoying the projects made each week.

This, the first week, is a sketch challenge.

I really liked this sketch.  Not too busy and easy to follow.  Here is my project.

I used the cute set from Kindred Stamps

You will notice one big difference.  I changed the eyes to add more of a kawaii look.  It was just a matter of drawing in different sized circles and making sure the original eyes were in the black area.
Now the colouring had me stumped and frustrated.  There is no shading in these characters.  You would think that would make me happy. It did, but matt colouring seems so long ago...lol.  I made my peace with it.  Took me a few hours to get over the non blended images but this is their original look.
I had some baby pink embossing powder in my stash from many moons ago.  So I heat embossed the sentiment twice to fill in any gaps.  I used a sun ray stencil in purple behind the characters to add a little something to the background.  The card front has SU DSP Oh So Ombre Sale a Bration paper on it.  Works perfectly with this project.
I outlined all the panels in black for a more comic look.  Overall a great little pop culture piece.

Thank you for joining me, in this, our first week of a new challenge blog.
Happy crafting!

#643

It is my first  Sketch Saturday challenge for the week.

Totally looking forward to a brilliant new year of sketches and challenges.  Keeps you on your toes and inspired to create.

This weeks sketch is #343

After our Christmas break I am keen to create (a lot).  We were lucky enough, being here in Australia, that we could go away on holidays.  So we made the most of it.  Spent time as a family swimming at the beach, relaxing, going on walks along the beach and walkways provided and most importantly catching up on some great family Tv shows.  One in particular the kids got to watch and they loved it.
Can you tell which one?

Hehe, it isn't hard is it.  The stamps used were both Ink Road Stamps.  "Baby On Board " and "This Is The Way".  The embossing folder I used on the silver metallic card stock is a Tim Holtz 3D one.  I added some Distress paint to the panels to dirty it up.  Brings a little feel from the show to the card.
Totally enjoyed making this one.  The is such a cutie.

New Year, New Team

 Hi!

Just me back again in my craft room after having time with the family and a well deserved rest.

Today I have an announcement. Today is my first post for

Digi Doodle Studios

I just love their designs.  They are so cute and fun.  Cannot wait to play with more of their images.

In this project I get to play with

Lisa J at Play

This lady may just be my new spirit animal.  She appears to love crafting, reading and having the odd drink to celebrate...hehe.  So I now have her as my front page for my planner.  This year I am hoping to continue with my planner on a more regular basis.

First I used an Elizabeth Craft Planner die and cut it out of 2 pieces of designer series paper.  Also cut out each of the polaroid shapes in different colours.  I turned each polaroid into a shaker.  Acetate on the back of each one and joined the 2 different panels together using foam mount tape to allow the shaker bits to move.

I fussy cut Lisa J out and adhered her to the font.  Took a bit of cutting but she looks really good there.  A real party girl.

Keep an eye out for more projects using Digi Doodle Studio's images.  Love them!

Happy Crafting!

APTTC January 2021

Happy New Year!!!

Wow.  Cannot believe we made to 2021.  My fingers are crossed that this year will be a brighter and healthier one for all.

I am back with another great project for the

A Perfect Time to Craft Challenge

This month we have 2 sponsors. Bugaboo Stamps and Charlies Stamps.

The image I chose is a real cutie.

Cute Baby Sea Turtle

A CAS card was needed for this little fella.  I wanted him to be the hero.

I grabbed my tumbled glass oxide ink and my favourite stencil (which for the life of me I cannot remember the name as I have thrown the packet out) and just partially covered the card panel front.  Before I done this I used my Word program and printed a sentiment on the card front.  This way I could "turtley" make a pun that works with the image.

When colouring him I did not use conventional colour combo;s, but popular tropical colours.

Don't forget to play along with the challenge for your chance to win some cool images.

Till next time, stay crafty.

Sketch Saturday time again.   I thought I might do a male card for this sketch. This is a set I bought but have never used.  My aim this ...
