Sakura

Hi all.  Today I am sharing a project using another of Beat Paper's characters from her Naruto set.
Sakura
I have taken some photo's of a step by step on how I done the background.  I love making my own backgrounds.  Sometimes you just cannot find what you need from patterned paper.

First off I google the character to get an idea for her colours.  Then I go through my copic swatch book and match up as best I can.

I also found Oxide inks that would complement the project.

Over the holiday break I like to do a lot of designing.  Back to basics as such.  Here is one of my sketches I came up with and went with that.

Mask off where you want to do your first colour

Then sponge that.

Mask off for the second colour

And so on until you have done all your background to how you want it.

Then I used my word document to come up with the perfect sentiment.  Sometimes we have projects and never have quite the right wording or font we are after.

And here is the final result.  I added some Glossy Accents to finish her off.
This is the character main mantra so it fits perfectly with the theme
Thank you for stopping by and

Sketch Saturday #718

Back again with another great sketch with

Sketch Saturday

Don't forget we have the optional twist if you want something else to play along with.

and the optional twist is
Celebrate love - valentines day, anniversary etc.

This card is a little different for me.  I don't normally do Christian/religious cards. I have over the years been asked for them with my stall so I figured I really should make some so they are available.
I like how simple this sketch is and yet it adds so much to the card.
This set is from Stampin Up's new Mini Catalogue.
Rejoice In Him.
The dove and the palm will be able to be used in many other themed cards so it can be a versatile set.
Thank you for popping by and hope to see you playing along with us.
Happy crafting!

Beat Paper January Release

Hello and welcome to another great monthly release from

This release includes the last 4 images for the zodiac collection and also

I played with the latter.

I cannot tell you how many times I watched this movie as a kid.  I know, I am showing my age.  I even remember when my mum took me to the old walk in theatre to watch this.  Dad had the sound track on vinyl and I knew every word, so here I was a little primary school kid singing every word to every song.  Still love it to this day.
I kept this project fairly simple as I really wanted you to focus on the characters.  Beat Paper has done an awesome job on these.  The car is just a stamp from my stash.
Stop by and check out her shop.  She has such an awesome array of images to choose from.  You are sure to find something you like.
Thank you for popping by.

Sweet November Stamps

Hi again!  I am here today sharing my second project as a Guest DT member for their Valentines release.

I was lucky enough to play with the Rose with a Rose image.

And here she is.  Honestly this project, again, does not just need to be a valentine.  Could be given to anyone you love.
I used a digital background that also comes from Sweet November.  Turns out they are encouraging everyone to use what is in your stash.  This is in my stash from last time I guest designed with them.
The sentiment is actually one this I cut in half so as not to cover up the image.  I think it looks alright separated.
Thank you for popping by.
Happy crafting!

Sketch Saturday #717

Hi and welcome to our first challenge for 2023.
This year not only do we have a cool sketch each fortnight but to add a little something we have thrown in a twist as.  This is purely optional.  It is so those that have entered can then enter again using the twist!
Here is this fortnighs sketch.
and the optional twist is, use a brand new stamp that you have never used before.

Now I know I have a ton of stamp sets I have never used.

Here is my take.  Now you will notice I omitted a circle on either side.  My dies were way too big for me to fit another one on either side so I left them blank.
The clock die is from a really old set I found in a craft shop, made by docrafts.  The patterned paper in the back, again something from my stash that I have had for years, maybe an old Kaisercraft one, not to sure.
The stamp sets for this are from
and they are
2 of my favourite sets.  I use these so much!

Now as you can see I did not use the twist this time around.  You never know I may use it in another challenge.  Don't forget to play along with us as we love to see everyones take on the sketch.

Happy crafting!

Sweet November Valentine Release

Hi everyone and welcome to a brand new year of crafting!

Today I am sharing with you my Guest DT project for

Sweet November Stamps

I had a chance to play with their latest Valentine release and i chose this image

Ryan and Molly

I love how you can still use digi stamps just like physical ones.  Print, instead of stamp, colour, then fussy cut out.

I love the look of how these two cuties are over the top of the patterned paper giving it the feel they are sitting on a wall.  The paper is an old DSP from SU.  And the sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp set that I stamped in a colour to match the hearts.

One other thing about this card, you don't have to use it just for Valentines day.  These little cuties could also be sending a Grandma/ Nanna their love for example.  These images are versatile for sure.

Don't forget to check out Amy Young's new release over at Sweet November.  They really are gorgeous images.

Happy crafting!
