Saturday Sketch

 Good Morning Everyone...
We have a great sponsor this week:

We Are 3 Digital Shop has generously offered a $15 Gift Certificate to their  shop!
Here is Week #557
It's the 5th Saturday ... pick any sketch from 215-556

And here is what I came up with.

This cute little fellow is called Hearts and Home Birdie.  I did trim him off his original branch that also had a HOME sign hanging from it.  This shows you no matter what image you have you can take away bits to make the image more versatile.
So if you have an active blog why not join us and have a go!

Come One Come All

Hi everyone. Today I am sharing my latest make with the stamp set Come One Come All.
This set  would be great for invitations to that special occasion.

Come One Come All is a versatile set.  It has all these little images that can be used with any theme.  They also make great backgrounds.  I gold embossed the balloons and stars randomly on black card.  And in between all the embossed images I used a lot of gems, for that extra bling!
To separate the black and white card I added a gold foil border.  I also used the gold foil as a backing for each of the center shapes.  The Come One Come All and popcorn image are also from this set.

When making invites we usually do them all the same.  And if you are making a few of them, it can get tedious, so, I made 3 different designs to change it up a bit.
Now I have to go and plan a party just so I can use these, lol.
Have a great crafty day!

Sending Sunshine

Hi everyone!  I am here today sharing a little interactive card I made using one of the cutest images around from Craftin' Desert Divas.

These kind of Peek a boo cards are very easy to make.  As long as you have some foam mount tape you are good to go.  The pic of the bird is popped up using said tape and the other is tucked underneath with a pull tab.  Great way to give someone a secret message also.  The little sunflower is a smaller version of the one the bird is holding.  The advantage of using digital images is the resizing ability.  I went with some soft summery colours on this one.  I have coloured this bird in so many ways I really should just do a rainbow bird...hehe.

Queen Of Hearts

Back again with a shaker card this time!  I haven't made many of these but I thought this fitted this character perfectly.

Queen of Hearts from Heartcraft Papers March release.

With the shaker mix I only had sequins red, black and silver.  So, I grabbed one of my dies that had multiple tiny hearts and cut out a few of these and added them to the mix.  If you don't have the right colour mix....make your own!
I hope you liked this project.  Have a great day!

Bursting Love

The March Kindred release is here!
And didn't I have some fun!  That is the name of the game after all.  When I first got this set I was thinking....ummmm. But once I made my first card the ideas just started flowing.
Bursting Love is the set I am sharing today.

This first project is a gift tag. Uses 4 images from the set and I just hand drew a party hat and gift.  Just a little light humour for this one.

This female image is bad ass!  And her stance just enhances this.  I put a wall between these 2 as I really don't think they get along...lol.

This one has the humour in it also.  This is what I call "special hugs".  A bit of sass for that friend we all have...lol.
Both these projects, I have use the Tim Holtz 3D embossing folder (rivots I think) on silver foil card.  Then rubbed black paint over it, then wiped off with a dry paper towel.  Gives that great industrial look and feel.

The entire Kindred Stamps March release will be available Friday, March 22nd at 8am PST/11am EST. Be sure to check out the Kindred Stamps blog on Friday for the full product release as well as the complete line up of all the Kindred Stamps Design Team projects from release week! If you visit and comment on all of the designers' blogs this week, you could win $15 in Kindred Stamps shop credit! So join the Fan Club and release event, show the design team some love, and get ready to empty those wallets this Friday!

CDD Wedding and Non release

I have 2 projects to share with you today.  To start with I will share my wedding card.
This image is from Wedding Day Digital Stamp.  I love this gorgeous couple.  You can change the hair to suit the couple and the colour of the card and flowers to suit the brides choice of colours (if you know them), or just your favourite colours, after all the card is from you.

The second project is a non release card, but a different kind of folding one.

When I cut an A4 piece of card in half to get my card base, instead of folding it in half I measured the half way point and folded the two sides in to meet in the middle.  Cut some patterned paper ti fit each panel.  The rectangle shape on the front is only adhered to one of these panels allowing the card to open from the centre.
The tree trunk image is Growing Love and the cute bunny is Spring Friends. A great combo.  You could make this into an Easter card or even a welcome baby card.  Versatile images allow you do change it up to whatever is needed at the time!  Love it!

Don't forget to check out all the other fabulous projects from the other Design Team members over on the gallery page on FB.  The ideas are limitless.

CDD gnome

I have another share today for you all.  This "sexy" gnome.  LOL  This is from the latest release from
I had to go punny with these gorgeous little images.  How can you not!

Spring Gnome
This fellow has a little more self confidence than me...hehe.  If these gnomes were in a animated show of their own I reckon this one would be the silent type.  Sweet and silent.  The foliage is from Inside Scallop Circle dies and the frame is Inside Scallop Rectangle dies

Don't forget Craftin Desert Diva's are having a challenge over on their FB page.  Go and check it out!

The Greatest Birthday

and welcome to project 2 of 3 for the versatile stamp set Come One Come All.
This card was inspired by all the circuses I visited when I was a child.  They were not my favourite thing (the smell was the worst! LOL) but I did enjoy seeing animals I would not normally get to see in my small home town.
With every circus comes a Ringleader.  I always loved the rich colours of their costumes and the whole theater of being in front of a captivated audience.

Doesn't he look smart in his tales and top hat!  After colouring his coat, I kept the rich red theme for the curtains and the gold for the tiebacks and the ropes holding onto the sentiment sign.

And to make the spotlight on him I simply cut out an oval shape and used it as a stencil with some white Kraft ink.  Then cut another stencil with 2 lines slowly meeting each other at the top, and used a little less ink this time.
I also thought I would be clever and cut out his whip but as I was cutting I snipped some off.  Ooops!  LOL.
Cannot wait to give this to my daughter.  I am sure she will love it!

Thanks for looking

Superb Blue Wren

 Good Morning Everyone...
We have a great sponsor this week:

Beccy's Place has generously offered a $10AU Gift Voucher towards digital stamps in their store.

Here is sketch #555:

And here is my card.  I didn't quite stick with the sketch.  I removed a circle so I could make the most of this beautiful image of Superb Fairy Wren .

Being an Aussie I just love this image.  Beccy has soooo many gorgeous flora and fauna images. In fact most themes are covered.  This will not be the last image I use from this shop.
In fact I have made another card using this image but will share another time.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a go at the challenge.  You have the chance to win a voucher from Beccy's!

Hanging With My Gnomies

My Gnomies are here!!!  At first glance I was in luuuurve!  I don't think I own any gnome stamps.  But these are just too cute to go past.
And there are so many gnome puns you can use.
Here is my project using the new release images from Spring Gnome, from Craftin Desert Divas

The cutest gnome family around.  And there are so many accessories in this digital download.  The Mushroom house, little mushroom bunch and flowers and butterflies!  One of my favourite releases I reckon.
Go and do yourself a favour and check them out!

Happy Un-Birthday

I am in a sharing mood today...hehe.  Time for another project for Heartcraft Paper.

I am loving this months theme!  Many a book reader remembers this story from their childhood.
Me, the mushrooms scared me....lol.  Those shrinking and enlarging abilities freaked me out.  Luckily I got over that.  So I got a little arty on this one.

I was going to make the mushies all different colours but ended up just sticking to a simple colour theme.  These colours don't make them look very appertizing and that is the way I want it to be....lol.
The image I used was Alice.  Her eyes are just gorgeous!

The sky is the limit with what you can do with this months release.  So much colour and randomness of objects is limitless.  There is no right or wrong that you can do with these images.  Why not pop on over and get one ( or all )  for yourself to play with.  You may just surprise yourself with what you come up with.
Till next time...happy crafting!

Diva Wedding

Hi and welcome to another great release with Craftin' Desert Divas
This month is filled with the smell of spring.  Gnomes and weddings go hand in hand with this season.
My first project for this months release is the wedding theme.
So many images to choose from.  And the best thing is you can resize these digital images to suit your project.  Me?  I couldn't help myself.  I done the same project in 3 different colours.  Very much a CAS card so any skill level can make this.

I used some watercolour paper for the background and sponged on the oxide inks and spritzed with a little water and removed it with paper towel just to break up the smooth colour.  I love all 3 of these colour combo's ( no favourites, they are all my babies....lol).

Keep an eye out as I will be sharing my next project very soon.  Meanwhile head on over to the FB CDD gallery and check out what the rest of the Design Team have come up with.

Till next time, happy crafting!

Embrace What Makes You Different

Hi everyone and welcome to another day of creating!
Today I got to play with the cute set Come One Come All. There is a lot you can do with this set.  Many different themes are possible.  Today I share 1 of 3 projects I have planned using this set.  I like to make sure I can make at least 3 to 4 different kinds of cards with a set before I purchase it.  And this set was easy to get those, and more!

I love this little elephant.  He is a cutie!  This card is a CAS card but it gets straight to the point. This is for anyone who has ever felt like an outsider or not worthy.  We all have our moments of self doubt (raises hand), some more than others (raises hand again).

This is for the beginner or advanced crafter.  I wanted this to be a kind of inspiration card.  One, someone could receive and maybe put in a frame to remind them that someone cared enough to make it for them and to remind them that they are unique and that is what makes them special.
I think we all need reminding sometimes that what makes us different is not always a bad thing.  Be kind to yourself, you deserve it!
And don't be afraid to have a go.

Thanks for looking

Sketch Saturday time again.   I thought I might do a male card for this sketch. This is a set I bought but have never used.  My aim this ...
