Unicone

Hi!
I could not resist playing with my Power Pack again. This time I used the
Unicone image from Craftin Desert Divas.

It is a very simple shaker card but with the element of surprise!

I cut out the little stars to allow the light to really shine through (make a not to make the bulb a little more central to the 3 stars...lol )  But you get the jist.  And bonus the unihorn lit up!
This I was not expecting!
I used a mix of shaker packs from CDD's great range.  I even coloured a couple of white ones with my purple copic marker to match the ice cream.  Those white can come in very handy!
For instructions and info on the light up mechanism check back a couple of posts.  All the info is there!
Happy crafting.

Frogs on a log

Hi all!  I am sharing today my favourite project from this months release over at Craftin Desert Divas.

And here it is!

This digi set is sooo much fun.  Great for the frog lovers in our lives!  As you can see it is a pretty straight forward layout.  A lot of fussy cutting but those that read my blog regularly you know that is a favourite past time of mine!  lol

And the sentiment is just one I typed in in the Word document.  I love a good pun!  Keep and eye out for my next project.  I may just pull out the light pack again!

Hero Time

Does anyone else feel this year is disappearing very quickly?  Time is escaping me at the moment.
Never enough time to get everything done.

Anyway it is Sketch Saturday time.

We have a great sponsor this week:

Dr. Digi has generously offered 2 digital stamps of the winner's choice!

Here is sketch #561

I did take a little poetic license with this sketch (which happens to be by me!!!!).  I used some little super hero friends of mine.

There is still the trio in the centre and the diagonal something in the background.  And I love this card as I can use it for my Pop Culture stall coming up in July.  Win, win!!
I hope you all have a great day and don't forget to play along with the challenge this week.
Happy crafting.

You light me up

Hi everyone and welcome to Pear Blossom Press's Power Pack Mega Hop.

The Power Pack is an amazing little creation.  It uses the basic science experiment we all done as kids at school.  As long as you have the basic electronic circuit you have a lit light!

I love this little pack.  Besides giving us light in our project, it comes in a cute little pack like this.  And it is reasonably priced to boot!

This is all you need for one project ( unless you want two lights then you will need double.

to watch a video on this go here to Pear Blossom's blog.  It is so easy to follow and on top of that it is so quick to do.  And that is a bonus, quick and easy project that has a WOW factor!

This photo shows you the circuit I completed.  I placed the images I wanted on the bookmark and placed the battery pack and light under these images.  I removed images and traced around the pack and light so I knew the position of them.  Then I cut around them with a craft knife.  This way the whole circuit can be in the middle of my sandwich (front and back panels of the bookmark).

And this photo shows you when you press on the spot the light works.  Always test this before putting your project together.  That way you know it works.  And adjust if you need to.

My youngest has been bugging me to make her another bookmark.  So this is what I came up with.
Then when we dim the lights and press on the chair......

It works!  She was so excited to get this.  I showed the son and now he wants one too!  LOL.  A clever little invention.

OK. There will be a few blogs here you can visit to see how to use this product.  Grab yourself a cuppa first so you can take your time and enjoy.

Strong Birthday

Hi everyone.  Today I would like to share with you my last post for my Design Team term. :-(  I have to say, I have the best time!  These ladies and these stamps are an endless inspiration for fun!
I have used Strong Maiden again.
This time, I hand drew a little hat (of sorts) and paper pieced it together to add a little dimension.  As you can see I did not use the image of the girl this time.  Sometimes just using the sentiments, whether one, two or many of them, you can still make a card with a difference.  I seem to have stuck with the red theme for this set.  Funny how we get stuck on colours or themes when making a group of projects.

Thanks for looking,  I hope you all have a great crafty day.  I know I will!

Snap!

Back again with another project for Craftin Desert Divas
I am using the cutest little set.

This is like a mini scrapbook page.  And I just love the little "washi tape"holding down the sentiments.  This is very easy to make.
I printed the water ripples onto the card base.  Then printed out the frogs, lilly pads and dragonfly and sentiments ( I used the word Document).  Coloured all the images and put it all together.
I just love all the green.  I want to go to this pond.
Have a great day!

Peace and Love KS release

Welcome to another fantastic release from Kindred Stamps
Today I get to share with you my projects using the very cute set

And as you can guess from the name of the set it is based on the Hippie era.  I loved using this set.  So much colour, and I get to use some punches that have been sitting in my draw, very much neglected.

No colour combo's are wrong with this one, which makes it so easy to use.  The more colour the better.  These 2 projects are very easy to do, but they look so effective.
I even had a few extra peace signs so used them for around the project.  I know I am going to use this set a lot more.  So many fans of the van out there for sure.  And the lava lamp is also a great image to use.
Don't forget the sentiments in this set.  Soooo many to choose from.  I do hope you liked these projects and those from the rest of the Design Team.  I know we had fun using this set.

The entire Kindred Stamps April release will be available Friday, April 26th at 8am PST/11am EST. Be sure to subscribe to the Kindred Stamps blog to see a daily line up of sneak peeks from our amazing Design Team and see the full product release on Friday! Come join the Fan Club and release event to be part of the release fun, and you may just win some Kindred Stamps credit!!

And keep an eye out everyday this week for more fantastic projects from other sets in this months release.  Stay tuned!

Lotus

Hello and welcome back for another crafting share.  Today I am sharing a card that is a little different.

I used the lotus from Pond Friends set from Crafting Desert Divas latest Digital release.

I printed out the image using grey scale printing.  Then I drew the hand around it.

I had thought to use a fancier die to cut around the image but I wanted to keep it very simple and let the image speak for itself.  And I kept the sentiment the same way as to not over power the card.

Still need to practice my freehand backgrounds but I thought it wasn't too bad for a  beginner.  And if you look at this digital set, this is definitely a different way to interpret using it.  Sometimes you just have to think outside the box.

Happy crafting!

So Hoppy

It is that time again, for the new release from Craftin Desert Divas.

This month we have a very playful set, Pond Friends.

I couldn't help myself when it came to the sentiment.  I cannot go past a good pun.

The frog, log, dragonfly and the reeds are all part of this set.  Plus there are many, many others, making this set very economical.  Each of these images are versatile and can be used in so many different ways.

I hope you like this cute little project.
Until next time...happy crafting!

Strong Trio

Hello!  I would like to share with you my latest project using the Strong Maiden Stamp set.  It may be a little set but it sure does lend itself to some great projects.

I made a trio of creations today.  A card, notebook and bookmark.  A great little gift idea.

I just had to use my Distress Oxide for the background for this one.  And the colours really just pop off the white background.
Keeping the design layout very simple makes the girl stand out a little.  She is strong and fierce without having to be loud.  This set also has a lot of sentiments to choose from so you will never come up short.

I hope you like this little trio and have yourself a great crafty day!

She's Back!

Another day, another project.
This one is for Heartcraft Paper.  This image, Queen of Hearts ,would have to be my favourite from the March release.  At first I thought...hmmm then once I started to colour her up I was coming up with ideas left, right and centre.

If you have been following my blog you will have noticed I have been dabbling with creating my own backgrounds.  This one is just on a smaller scale.

She is one tough looking chick!  I kept the background very simple.  The heart is actually glitter cardstock but it is hard to tell in the photo.
Good thing about this card is that anyone could do it.  Not hard to draw a couple of lines and some curtains.  I hope you like it as much as I do!
Till next time, happy crafting!

Nolite Te Bastardes Carborundorum

Hi everyone.  I hope you are all have a fantastic day!
Today I would like to share with you a project featuring the Strong Maiden set.  With this project I had it center around the Latin sentiment in the set.  It is something we can all take a little from in many aspects in our lives.  I won't share here what it translates to, But can google it and it will tell you.  :-)

Anyway here is my project.

We can all identify as just one of the crowd at times.  This one I decided to mask off their faces to let them be nameless.  A little "arty" I know but I liked the effect.
And we come in all different shades, hence the Maidens are all different races.  It does take a bit of time to do the masking but it is so worth it.

A simple card layout to allow the "on mass" to give the full effect.
I hope you like this card, and have yourself a great crafty day!

Unicorn Magic

Welcome to another day of craftiness!  Today I am sharing a project I made for

Believe in Magic is the image used here.  It is actually one of two unicorns in this set.

To make the yellow background and make it look like there is light behind the unicorn, I turned my 1 inch round sponging tool on an angle and just pulled the colour from the edge, in, towards the centre.
I printed off a large image, very unusual for me as I normally do smaller ones.  I coloured it in rainbow colours and some light greys.  On mane, tail and horn I added wink of stella for the bling effect.
I fussy cut the unicorn out which means I removed all the stars around it.  So I randomly placed some star sequins around the image to replace the ones missing.

Check out Craftin Desert Divas Facebook challenge.  You could win yourself a prize.

This months theme is Unicorn, Fairy rainbow colours.  As you can see, I went nuts on the colour!   lol

Alice

I am back with the blog hop for Heartcraft Paper.
Today, again, I am using the Alice image.

For todays card I finally got my hands on some Stampin' Up Designer Paper that was only available during their Sale A Bration time.  It fits perfectly with this theme.
And I done a little freehand for her surroundings.  I do need to practice that but one day I hope to make it look good.
Here is the link for the blog hop.  Hope you enjoy!

Just for Fun!

I am sharing my card today that is just for fun over at

I see in other countries it was Mothers day over the weekend.  Here in Australia it is not until May.  So it appears I have gotten in early!  I love this little bunch of flowers from the Stampin Up Mini catalogue.

So much so that I have made this card 4 times in different colours for my stall.  Very simple, elegant look.  I love white cards with a pop of colour, and this one is no exception.
I hope you find inspiration from the rest of the team and hope you can join us and maybe win yourself something in return.
Happy crafting.

Owl-some Owls

Today is  Ink N Splatter time. I had the privilege of playing with the new release Owl-some Owls stamp set.  I also used the paper pack ...
