Let's Eat Cake

Hello!  And welcome to my third posting as part of the Beth Duff Designs Creative Team and the Spring release.  Today we are showcasing "Let's Eat Cake".  Who doesn't love a cute cupcake design?  It really is too cute!  My first projects I stamped out enough smiley cupcakes to colour a rainbow.  I simply attached these to matching paperclips and added a gem to each to finish off the cute factor.  Choose your favourite colouring medium and go for it!

And I put them to good use. I used them to mark where each colour is in my Copic book.

This next project, as you may have noticed I again went with lots of colour.  I grabbed some balloon dies ( these are MFT ones) and I die cut my own stencils, I used old x-ray films.  They make great stencils.

Using my SU ink pads and sponges I randomly sponged these colours onto my whisper white cardstock using my brand new (lol) stencils. Voila!  Instant patterned paper.  I spritzed water onto this background and used a little paper towel in some spots to remove some of the ink.  Then I stamped the sentiment on with black ink.

Using that ink I then stamped a large cake image. Using my Copic markers I coloured it in.

Once done I fussy cut the cake and then  "popped" the cake onto the front with foam mount tape.  Glued it to the front of the card and randomly added gems.

My last card is a bit different.  I have always wanted to have a go at the no line technique.  So here is my first attempt.  You have to have a go at this technique!  Panic set in when doing this as I wasn't sure it was going to turn out.  But it did.  Colours used here were SU Marina's Mist and Lemon Lime Twist for the balloons and Sahara Sand for the table outline.  Tried my best to match up my Copic markers, I have a few but none were lemon lime colour but I got close. Will keep practicing this technique.  I love watching what others come up with using it.  Seriously, HAVE A GO!!  lol

Don't forget all the sets we have been showing you over the last week  go live Sunday in a limited amount of bundles 12 pm EST (U.S.), and individuals Monday 12 pm EST(U.S.)!  You don't want to miss out!
Bye for now!

Happy Planting and Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to our very first blog hop with Beth Duff Designs .  Today I am featuring the set Happy Planting.  My take on this set was a little different to others.  As soon as I saw the peas in the pod I thought of babies!  It is always handy to have a baby card on hand so I gave it a shot.

Firstly I stamped out a couple of the pea images, then using my copics I coloured them in.  I used YG23 YG25 YG67.  The I grabbed my white gel pen and added little highlights.  I will admit, this is my first time using this technique.  I love how others do it and have to say I am happy with how they look.

Next up I die cut out some different sized polaroid pieces.  Removed the middles and hand drew a leaf and the stem of a pea plant.  Coloured them first with copics then added the outline (just in case it smudged while colouring).  Sponged SU Marina's Mist in the background.

Using MFT Scallop borders I cut out the border on the patterned paper (Lawn Fawn) and some white cardstock, which I added underneath.  Adhered these together.  Then adhered these to the SU Lemon Lime Twist card front.  Stamped a couple of bows from the SU Santa's Sleigh stamp set.  Die cut, coloured in same colour as the peas and added a rhinestone to each and popped them on each end of the scallop border.  And then added a trio of rhinestones in the middle at the bottom.  I just love when a set can be versatile and Happy Planting is one of them.

Thank you so much for joining us on our first ever Beth Duff Designs blog hop. We are so excited to share these sets with you, and truly think you will love them as much as we do. Please join us and visit each page on the hop, by leaving a comment on each post you will be entered into a drawing for a set of your choice from Beth Duff Designs' Spring line up (open to both US and Int'l fans!)

I'd Rather Be Glamping

Hello, and welcome to my very first official release post for Beth Duff Designs Creative Team.  I am pretty excited (that is an understatement!).  I am here to show off the cards I made using "I'd Rather Be Glamping" set.  I have so many family and friends who love to camp so jumping at the chance to use this set was a no brainer.

This first project gave me a chance to play with my Distress Oxides again.  I love these so much.  Anyway I used the following 3 colours for the background.

Then I sprayed a few droplets onto the card and used paper towel to remove the water, leaving a speckled look.  I adhered this to a black card base.

Next I stamped out all the images I need for the card.  Using copics I coloured the images in then cut them out by hand ( I love fussy cutting).   Here is the list of colours used.

Trees - YG11, YG23, YG25, YG67.
Trunk + Tent - E13, E15, E17, E18
Fire - YR15, YR18, YR19, YR23
Sign - E43, E44, E47, E49
Van - BG11, BG13, BG15, B00, B02, Y11

Using MFT's Single Stitched Rounded Square Frame dies, I diecut the squares from white cardstock.  I discarded the middle, and placed and attached the frames using foam mounting taped.  Placed all the images over these.  Then I took one of my MFT sentiment sets and white embossed them on white card and adhered this to the card also with foam mount tape.  Randomly placed a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins.  And voila! My first card.

Second project, I used the same colours and basic ideas to make some tags.  But his time I used watercolour cardstock.  Using MFT tag builder I die cut 3 tags.  And again using oxide inks I sponged the 2 different shades of colours onto each tag.  Light blue with a darker blue, and so on.  Spritzed all 3 with a little water and then paper towelled this off.  I stamped, coloured and hand cut all the images out I needed.  I used Y19 and Y13 for the caravan along with V09 and V17.  "Popped" these images onto the tags with foam mount tape (2 trees are glued straight down to give perspective).  I used some SU Burlap ribbon and some twine on the tags.  Randomly, I adhered some sequins to finish them off.

Last project I kept it a bit simpler.  Taking a piece of watercolour card and smooshed some Distress Ink Chipped Sapphire on with a bit of plastic and some water.  Using a white gel pen I added a starry background.  Following the same colouring for my previous images I coloured the stamped trees, tent and fire with my copics.  I added some random sentiment stamps I found in my stash (none of these are the same font which adds to the laidback feel of this card).  Added all images to the background and adhered this piece of watercolour card to a card front.  No gems this time.  This card was always going to stay simple.  I actually like how simple it is.

Thank you so much for looking.  Don't forget to check out the very talented Fawn, Shannon and Nicole with their projects using this wonderful set, I'd Rather Be Glamping.

Bye for now!
