Saturday Sketch

Back again for another dose of Saturday Sketch fun.

Today we have Fred She Said as the sponsor.

The super prize offered this week is a $10 Gift Certificate.

Here is sketch #533:

It's the 5th Saturday ... pick any sketch from 215-532

I chose last weeks sketch

Now normally I would print out my image and get to it with my Copics. Not this time.  Fred She Said have images already coloured for you to use. Christmas Rosey This can be excellent for when you are short on time and need to whip up a card real quick.  And the bonus, you can resize to fit your project.

With a little wink of stella on his hat and the green ribbon you are good to go.  Simple but oh so cute!!  And the 3 discs around the card I am going to use on a bookmark to use in my recipe book to mark my Christmas recipes.  What a great idea.

So if you would like to play along here is a link for you to go and do just that.

Hope you have fun!

Flower Power

Hi eveyone.
Been very busy creating in the darkest depths of my craftroom.  And today I am sharing one of my latest creations.

For this card I used the Flower Power image, and also the Hello Summer digi paper set.  I am so in love with this paper.  It is so handy to have the paper you like/want on hand whenever you want.  And if you are not confident in your blending abilities then this paper is for you.  Makes you look like an expert!  lol.

I used a little flourish corner set i had in my stash with some punched flowers and gems.  And to throw a little personalizing I hand wrote my sentiment.  You don't have to but I had a go.

Yellow is not my go to colour for flowers, as I find it hard to shade with them in my copics range.  But never say never.  Don't forget to check out the wonderful, ever growing range at

You won't be sorry.  :-)

Saturday sketch Time

It is Saturday Sketch time again!
This week we are being sponsored by Di's Digi Stamps

The super prize offered this week is a $12 Voucher to Di's Digi Stamps

and here is the sketch for this weeks challenge
#531

Sometimes I love a simple layout and this is one of them.  Here is my card.

I printed out my digi image from Heartcraft Paper which is called Tulips Come Together in a kind of grey scale as I wanted a softer look than a black outline would give me (thanks to the other DT members for helping to figure how to actually do this!)

I coloured it in with Copic markers
V15 V17 V09
YG17 YG25 YG23

The base card is SU Elegant Eggplant.  Then a white piece of card card to fit stamped with an old background stamp I had in SU Crumb Cake.  I sponged a little bit of this ink on the background as well to make the tulip panel pop.  Stamped a sentiment and cut out and adhered to card front.  Tied on some thread and tied it off with a bow.  Added some random sequins to finish it off.

Don't forget to play along with the challenge.  Cannot wait to see everyone's creations.

Till next time.....

Super Heroes

Wow!  It appears I have been very quiet on the blog front.  Sorry.  Been really busy behind the scenes.  I just popped in quickly to share a quick photo of a little side project I done.  After owning this set for about 6 weeks, I have finally gotten a chance to colour in my Superhero set from Kindred Stamps.  Unfortunately these are no longer available as it was a limited edition box.

I will over the next few weeks share a step by step on how I coloured each character.  So stay tuned.  Without further ado here is my favourite fandom of all time.

Kindred Stamps also released today their next limited edition box.
Justice is served box.  You don't want to miss out!

Upon Request

Hi and welcome!
Today I made a custom made notebook for my youngest daughter.  I let her choose the image, the paper and the coloured ribbon and the colours to colour the image in. She even got to choose the colour notebook she wanted....(with a little nudge nudge from me...ssssh don't tell!)

These were the notebooks she got to choose from.  For something different she (I mean"we") chose the blue one.
First step was to print out the paper needed.  I used the plain pink and green page from Heartcraft Paper 's Digi Paper collection Hello Summer

Seriously this printed beautifully.  This is the first time I have ever used a digi paper.  And I am IMPRESSED!
Next she (and this time I do mean "she" lol) chose what ribbons to add.  This is a great way to use up some of the old ribbon in your stash.

I also added a ribbon with a charm attached to use as a bookmark.

Next we chose a font to colour in to match the blue outline of the notebook cover.  I love the graffiti look so that is what we went with.

Once coloured I cut out each letter and mounted it onto silver foil card (hard to see) and overlapped the letters for the true "tagged " look.  Then cut it out leaving a foil outline.

Next we added some black enamel accents for the " seeds" at the top.

Coloured in the image daughter chose (yes she chose this one) which  reminds me of her at her not so best..lol.  Finished with her name in the middle and there you go.

A custom made notebook.  She was so happy with it.  Now my eldest daughter wants one too. Will show that one when I am done also.

Thank you for stopping by and looking.  Have a great rest of your day.

Heartcraft Paper's September release

Welcome to the September release for Heartcraft Paper and our monthly blog hop!

This month is Halloween themed.  Here in Australia we really don't go into it as much as other countries.  We have a little merchandise out on the shelves but not to the degree of others.

Today I bring you a set of tags with each of the new release images.  I am thinking I would rather these than candy if we were to partake (a lot easier on the hips!  lol).
So here are the scary group...(they really aren't THAT scary!)

I printed the images off in grey scale so that the outlines were not as harsh as the basic black, just for a different look.  And normally I don't leave a white outline when fussy cutting but chose to do it this time.  The tags themselves are tombstone shape to add to the All Hallows theme.

All images were coloured with Copics.  The tombstones were done with Mixed media cardstock and Hickory smoke Oxide ink.  Spiderweb is a Memory Box Spiderweb border trimmed to use separately.  To add a little bling I used some clear sequins and Enamel Accent dots.

All the links are in the names above the photo's.
Click on the DT names to continue on the blog hop.  Don't forget to leave a little love for everyone.

Me (you are here!)

Whimsical Steampunk Octopus

Hi and welcome to another Saturday Sketch Challenge.  Today we used this sketch .....

and the company sponsoring this week is

Oddball Art Co.

Oddball Art Co.

They have the spookiest and quirkiest images I have ever seen.  I am in luuurve I tell you!

And the image I chose is nothing like I have seen before.
The coolest (is it even cool to say cool anymore? lol) Octopus I have ever seen!

I could not wait to get started on this one.  And the sketch made it easy to do too.

Steampunk is not my normal go to style but I love it!  But he turned out pretty good I thought.

The silver foil card I die cut from an old SU Top Note die I have in my stash.  It is great when you can us some of the old stuff you have and haven't used in years.  I then embossed it using a 3D folder of Tim Holtz's.  Rubbed on some black paint (Distress Paint Black Soot) then used my finger to get the paint into all the little nooks and cranny's.  Used a paper towel to just remove some of the excess paint.  Repeated on some copper foil card that is the strip behind the top note cut out.
Ran a piece of Basic Grey card through the emboss folder as well but sponged on a little black ink to highlight the pattern.

Then I die cut some gears and cogs from some copper foil card using Gearheads from Tim Holtz Alterations.  I just layered these on top of each other instead of the flowers on the sketch (seen above).  Then added the tags underneath.  Love this instead of a bunch of flowers.

And some of the little circles that pop out of these gears, once cut, I used in the bottom corner just to fill it in a little without going over the top.

And lastly I added the little fellow himself. I did cut off the end curls and the dangling heart after I accidentally cut one curl off.  So I omitted them all.  I tried dangling a couple of metal hearts instead but decided to scrap it.  One last look at the card.

Thanks for having a look. Don't forget to participate in the sketch challenge for your chance to win the prize provided.

Till next time.........

Sketch Saturday time again.   I thought I might do a male card for this sketch. This is a set I bought but have never used.  My aim this ...
