Thanks Mel!

Hi all.

Mel from Create By Me Studio sent me my latest order of goodies and in that package was a little surprise.  She had sent me a beautiful birthday shaker card and so freebies!  It doesn't get much better than that!  So here is the card being shaken (by my eldest DD using her ipad as my camera is ancient).

Mindful Manatee Kids Challenge

There is currently a challenge for kids to have a go at making a card with the Mindful Manatee digi stamp.  It is to encourage us (older) card makers to pass on our enthusiasm for our craft.  We can help the kids with this but the majority of the project must be done by them.  So I took up this challenge.  I printed out the Manatee digi (HERE ) from Beth Duff Designs.  I asked my Miss 9 to have a go. She jumped at the chance.   She keeps bugging me to makes some cards with her and I keep saying....soon, soon.  Well the time has come for me to allow her her opportunity. 

We opened up the new Dylusion shimmer sprays (even I haven't played with these yet!).  Seriously, these are the easiest things to use.  Miss 9 picked her fav colours (keep in mind I don't have the full range...YET!  the rest are now on the wishlist).  She had a go spraying her own background.  Turned out great!  Then she coloured here image and cut it out.  We put it all together and Miss 9 placed all the sequins and gems where she wanted them to go.  VOILA!  When taking the photo I tried to capture the "shimmer ".

 Both of us were extremely happy with how it all turned out.  The colours are so vibrant and "shimmery".  Looks like I have a mini crafter on my hands!  Someone had better take the credit  card away.  Fancy buying for 2 crafters now.  We are in big trouble...hahaha!

Every Bunny

Hi all and welcome to my first blog for Beth Duff Designs.  This lovely lady is taking a chance on me and added me to her design team.  Our first project is an Easter challenge.  She gave us a digi stamp to work with and our job was to substitute a word in a song title with the word Bunny. You can get your free image HERE .  My song choice was "Everybody wants to rule the world" By Tears for Fears.  I loved this song as a kid.  

So my first job was to print out a few bunnies, and a few more bunnies...hehe.  Turns out I only needed 12, after colouring 16 and hand cutting them all out.  Better to have too many bunnies than not enough. 

Next up I needed the planet earth.  I had none big enough in my stash so I googled and printed one off to the size I needed.  I printed out the song title with the "bunny" added in.  Trimmed it to size and added it to the planet. 

Lastly I put it all together onto some galaxy patterned paper.  these bunnies really are too cute.  I hope you liked my little project.

Organized Chaos

You may not believe me when I say "Yes I know where everything is".  But I do.  Ad I only have a mere 2 -3 inches to work in...lol.  I do believe it is time to tidy up.  What else are Sundays for?  Organizing my craft items and getting my space ready for more crafting.  This will be known as the before picture.  Hehe.
